An actress and painter, Yun Song-A graduated from Hongik University College of Fine Arts, Department of Painting (Department of Western Painting), and is currently working as a Public Relations Ambassador for the Korean Fine Arts Association. She received various awards, including the grand prize for the Top 10 People Who Made Korea Proud in the fine art artist division, the 'NFT ART' Award from the 29th Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards, and the 'Special Selection' award (Non-figurative category) from the Grand Art Exhibition of Korea. Among Yun's first NFT works, the "Dreaming Camel" series, is her critically acclaimed Camel's Moon, a masterpiece that was sold for 100 million won at the 'NFT Busan 2021' auction held at BEXCO, Busan on December 6, 2021. This marked the milestone as both the highest price ever recorded at the aforementioned auction and the most expensive artwork by Korean celebrity artists. The camels in my paintings symbolize modern, everyday people. The ‘humps’ of a camel represent the ‘burden’ that us, modern men, carry; they are the manifestation of responsibilities that we cannot foresake, like, for instance, our children. However, one must recall that the humps, the heavy lumps of fatty tissue that camels have to carry everywhere, are also the ‘life-giving sustenance’ that enables camels to survive in harsh conditions. Likewise, the ‘burden’ we must bear provides, by nature, difficulties and obstacles, but it could also be our ‘raison d'être’. Also, in my paintings, the ‘sun’ alludes to goals, and ‘shadows’ reality. I wanted to depict the difficulties of pursuing one's goals through analogies of multiple shadows; reality is often harsh and leads people astray, making them wander about instead of heading straight for their goal. However, I also wanted to convey a rather hopeful message that persistence and focus can help one achieve one's goal.
