Choi Sun-gil continues a body of work that captures the passage of time and traces of life in nature through attentive observation and on-site study. He spent over a year returning to the 800-year-old ginkgo tree in Bangaeri, directly encountering seasonal changes, shifting light, and the subtle movements of the wind. His work extends beyond the depiction of landscape, exploring the deeper connection between nature and human existence. Lines and colors accumulate through the movement of his brush to form organic expressions of vitality, while each canvas carries the sensory experiences and the breath of time he encountered in the field.
