Christoph Ruckhäberle (b. 1972, Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany) is a contemporary artist based primarily in Leipzig, Germany. He initially studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he was awarded a Walt Disney Animation Grant. Driven by a growing interest in what he perceived as the more essential and autonomous field of fine art, he shifted his focus to painting and, in 1997, enrolled at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig). In 2000, he completed his master’s studies under the guidance of Professor Arno Rink, a central figure of the Leipzig School. Ruckhäberle later emerged as a key member of the New Leipzig School (Neue Leipziger Schule), alongside internationally renowned artists such as Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy, gaining wide recognition within the contemporary art scene. From 2002 to 2022, he served as Professor of Painting at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, contributing significantly to the development of a new generation of artists.
