The solo exhibition of artist Jo Hyunseo will be held at the ArtToken Gallery SPACE 2R2. Jo, who has been practicing the unique Sewing Machine Drawing technique globally for 23 years, confronts and transcends the spectrum of human emotions - joy, sorrow, anger, and pleasure. Jo's work, combining stitching with themes of healing and reconciliation, is sometimes interpreted in parallel with feminist artists due to its thematic similarities. What makes Jo Hyunseo's machine drawing intriguing is the critical perspective on the mechanized human society without excluding the machines. Instead, Jo consciously chooses the machine, utilizing the act of weaving as a connection to the long-standing tradition in human history. Through the medium of weaving, Jo perceives the loom as another nature given to humans and associates it with their artistic practice.
