Abyss at Noon : Beatrice of Silence

아트큐브 투알투(ArtCube 2R2)는 고독과 침묵의 아름다운 화면으로 자신만의 미적 형식을 구축해 온 황인란의 개인전 ‘정오의 심연’을 통해 이제까지 시도하지 않았던 작가의 새로운 형식과 예술적 표현의 경계를 확장합니다. 황인란은 명상적인 화면(심상용), 침묵과 고독으로 동결된 이미지(정형탁), 생의 원칙에서 나오는 그림(박영택)으로 자신의 고유한 미적 형식을 지속적으로 탐구해 온 작가입니다. 반복적이고 중첩된 연필 선과 꼼꼼하게 아크릴로 채색된 꽃과 새, 소녀는 고독과 침묵, 영혼을 재현하기 위한 작가만의 미적 형식입니다. 이 순수한 풍경은 시대인식과 타자인식, 관심과 공감, 동정적 혜안(empathy)이 알레고리처럼 숨어 있기에 더욱 미궁입니다. 현실을 보되 현실에 집착하지 않고 외양으로 상승하되 내면으로 하강함으로써 작품은 예술가가 자신의 삶을 보내고 살아갈 생생한 공간이 되는 것입니다. 이 내면의 처소에서 한 아름다운 소녀가 관객을 안내합니다. 베르길리우스와 베아트리체가 단테를 안내하듯 말입니다. 하지만 그 곳은 저 먼 이상의 길이 아니라 현실 어딘가 우리가 찾고자 했던 파괴할 수 없는 내면의 길인지 모르겠습니다. 소녀는 그 길을 안내하는 베아트리체인지도… ArtCube 2R2 broadens the boundaries of artistic form and expression in Hwang In-ran’s solo exhibition, "The Abyss of Noon." Through this exhibition, the artist explores a new style, previously unattempted, presenting visually striking depictions of solitude and silence. Hwang In-ran is an artist who has continuously developed her unique aesthetic by creating meditative imagery (Shim Sang-yong), frozen scenes of silence and loneliness (Jung Hyung-tak), and paintings grounded in the principles of life (Park Young-taek). Her meticulous style is characterized by repetitive and layered pencil lines, as well as intricately painted flowers, birds, and girls rendered in acrylic, all serving to evoke solitude, silence, and the soul. This pure landscape feels even more like a labyrinth, as it conceals allegories of awareness, recognition of others, concern, empathy, and sympathetic insight. Her work observes reality without being bound by it, ascending outwardly while descending inwardly. It becomes a vivid space where the artist’s life is both lived and expressed. In this inner sanctuary, a beautiful girl acts as the viewer’s guide, much like Virgil and Beatrice guide Dante. Yet, this place she leads us to may not be some distant ideal, but rather a pathway within reality—one that brings us closer to the indestructible inner self we have been seeking. Perhaps the girl is Beatrice, guiding us along this path…
